Functional Medicine
Start with data. Understand your biology. Then build a plan that addresses root causes — not just symptoms.
Medicine That Asks “Why,” Not Just “What”
Conventional medicine is designed to diagnose and treat disease. Functional medicine is designed to optimize function — to understand why you feel tired, why you're gaining weight, why your energy crashed at 40, and what's actually happening at the hormonal, metabolic, and cellular level.
Dr. Valle practices functional medicine as the integrating layer beneath everything True Roots offers. Your TRT protocol is informed by your bloodwork. Your IV formulation is tailored to your nutrient levels. Your aesthetic treatments are contextualized by your overall health.
This is the “inside-out” approach in practice. And it starts with the most comprehensive blood panel you've ever had.
Comprehensive Blood Panel
Not the standard panel your primary care doctor orders. Our panels include:
Hormone Panel
- Total and free testosterone, SHBG, estradiol, DHT, progesterone, DHEA-S
- TSH, free T3, free T4, reverse T3, thyroid antibodies
Metabolic Panel
- Fasting glucose, fasting insulin, HbA1c, HOMA-IR
- Comprehensive lipid panel (including particle size)
- Liver and kidney function markers
Nutrient & Inflammation
- Vitamin D, B12, folate, magnesium, ferritin, iron panel
- hsCRP, homocysteine, ESR
- Omega-3 index
Additional markers as indicated: cortisol (AM), IGF-1, PSA (men), CBC with differential, food sensitivity panels, gut health markers.
The Process
Initial Consultation ($250)
60-minute consultation with Dr. Valle. Review of your health history, current symptoms, lifestyle, goals, and medications.
Comprehensive Blood Draw
In-office blood draw. Results typically available within 5–7 business days.
Results Review
30–45 minute follow-up to review your results in detail. Dr. Valle explains what your numbers mean, what’s optimal (not just “normal”), and where interventions can make the biggest impact.
Personalized Protocol
Based on your labs, Dr. Valle designs a protocol that may include hormone optimization, nutrient supplementation, IV therapy, lifestyle modifications, and/or aesthetic treatments.
Ongoing Monitoring
Quarterly labs for patients on hormone or peptide therapy. Semi-annual panels for wellness patients. We track trends over time, not just snapshots.
Who This Is For
The Optimizer
Already healthy but wants to move from “normal” to optimal. Interested in data-driven health decisions.
The Fatigued Professional
Persistent tiredness, brain fog, or low motivation despite adequate sleep and exercise. Wants to find the root cause.
The Hormone-Curious
Suspects low testosterone, thyroid dysfunction, or hormonal imbalance but hasn’t found a physician who takes it seriously.
The Biohacker
Wants a physician who speaks their language — InsideTracker, Huberman, Peter Attia — and can provide prescriptions and protocols that supplements alone can’t.
The Aesthetic Patient
Wants better aesthetic results by addressing the biology underneath first.
